  • How is this different than any other photo booth out there?
    • We're so glad you asked that question!  Once our clients experience our Portrait booth they don't ever want to step into a typical photo booth ever again (that's what they say, not us., but we agree).    First and foremost, we are photographers.  We have a combined 14 years of experience making people look amazing in their images.  We're not DJ's, we're not kareoke machine owners, and we didn't buy into this profession with zero photography knowledge.  We are photographers that love making people look amazing in images.  Would you feel comfortable hiring a photographer as a DJ? "I also DJ on the side and I'll cut you a deal if you book both services through me."  Yea, we wouldn't either.  Chances are you'll be getting mediocre service on one, if not both, of those services.   If you'd like to see all of our regular photography work please visit our main website at www.bertmclendon.com .  One of the most well known rules in photography is "The bigger the light, the softer the light will be.  The smaller the light, the harsher the light will be.".  If you see a photo booth with a tiny flash on it, run!   The image is going to look horrible.  Why do you think that they give you a bunch of cheap props to cover up your face?  "Look how awesome I look in this vending machine photo booth picture"- said no one ever!  Our studio quality lighting is flattering and it will make you and your guests look amazing.  Another reason our Portrait Booth is in a league of its own is the fact that we only employ professional photographers to run it, NOT an "attendant" or "host".    Attendants are there to make sure the equipment doesn't break down while photographers are there to make sure you look gorgeous.  Our photographers will show you exactly how to pose if you need help to make sure all of your pictures turn out amazing.  Last but not least, we display the images instantly to a giant screen right beside the guests so they can see the image immediately.  It's not a 9.7 inch screen, it's a 100 inch screen!  This is Texas isn't it?  Another great testament to our booth is that our clients have used their images as Christmas cards and have ordered large canvas prints to hang on their walls.  We've never seen or heard of that happening with our competitor's images.
  • When should we book?
    • As soon as you can.  Popular wedding months will fill up fast while popular Holiday event dates will also fill up fast.  All that is required is a $250 retainer.
  • Can you deliver Black and White images?
    • Of course!  We can customize the post processing, the lighting and the backdrop!
  • What equipment do you use?
    • We use a professional full-frame DSLR along with professional studio lighting.  Most typical photo booths use point and shoot cameras, webcams, ipads (can you imagine??) and very small lights.  While other companies are trying to automate everything, we strive for the ultimate in quality with better gear, better lighting, and better pictures.  A wedding photographer uses the best equipment money can buy, why should the photo booth equipment be any different?
  • Can we see our images when they are taken?
    • Oh yeaaa! That is part of what makes our Portrait Booth so different.  The images are instantly displayed onto an 120 inch screen or 50 inch HDTV, not a 9.7 inch iPad screen…. Everything is bigger in Texas, right?
  • What is the turn around time for the images taken at our event?
    • Your images are uploaded instantly so guests can view, download and share them immediately right at the event.  No more searching for a wrinkled and damaged print.  Just type in the url on the guest card and download, email, and share your images to everyone.  It's that easy.
  • What's the footprint of each of your booths?
    • We have sizes to fit any event.  Our default setup fits in an 8'x10' space but we also have setups that fit in a 6'x6' space as well.  Our default setup can fit 1-20 people comfortably and depending on your scrunching skills and patience you can fit a few more.  The smaller setup is perfect for house parties such as baby showers, engagement parties, bridal showers
  • Do you offer prints?
    • YES!  We offer two ways of getting prints and we can even customize the images with a personal message or design.   Our prefered way is a delivered 4x6 lab print.  This let's a few things happen- 1.  Hand editing and cropping on each image to make them look the best they can 2.  A much higher print quality  3.  Images are taken at your event (A LOT more!).  Onsite prints are available if you absolutely need to have a take away.  Onsite prints fun to have but they definitely slow things down pretty radically.   Onsite printing sounds appealing until you hear that over 95% of those images are swept up off the floor at the end of the night, damaged, wrinkled and thrown away by the guests.  It's now 2015 and sharing images from your mobile device is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.  We believe having the flexibility to print images any size you like and sharing the images immediately to your friends and family is easier than keeping up with a print when you're trying to have fun.
  • How many hours can you shoot for?
    • As many as you would like.  Our biggest package covers 4 hours, which covers most long receptions and corporate events, and you can add on as many hours as you would like.
  • Can this booth be outdoors?
    • It depends on if there are power outlets available and if it's in a semi enclosed space. Patios work on most occasions but we definitely prefer to be out of the unpredictable Texas winds.  One power outlet is required to run the booth, two for the booth and display.
  • Do you offer a payment plan?
    • Yes we do!  We can split up payments into 2 payments with the total due before the event date.
  • How far do you travel?
    • we travel all over the country and even for destination weddings.  Travel fees do apply.  Call us for a quote.
  • How many people can fit into each booth?
    • 1-20 people comfortably (depending on any custom builds).  Depending on your scrunching skills and patience, you can fit a few more.
  • My wedding photographer is offering me a deal on their photo booth, why shouldn't I go with that?
    • Wedding photographers are focused on 1000 other things on your wedding day, we know because we shoot weddings every year.  Being focused full time on your booth at your event allows us to capture every crazy moment.  It also allows your wedding photographer(s) to focus on the other special moments happening throughout your day.
  • Is an attendant there the whole time?
    • A professional photographer is present the entire time.  We don't employ attendants.  It's very important for us to maintain the highest quality for our brand.
  • What's the difference between an attendant and a professional photographer?
    • An attendant is there to make sure the equipment is working.  A photographer is there to make sure you look your very best and the images come out at the highest quality.  A photographer knows what good light is, how to nail perfect exposure, how to nail focus and awesome posing tricks to make you look amazing.  An attendant knows that a picture has been taken.
  • Do you have props?
    • If you have seen our images, you'll notice that there are not a lot of props in the images.  This isn't to say that we can't use props, we just prefer the look of nicely dressed people having fun and creating images that you'll actually want hanging on your wall.  Nothing kills a great photo more than holding up a 25 cent prop over a great smile.  If you absolutely have to have props, we'll make it happen.  We can custom design some very classy signs and even incorporate some chalkboard signs for customizing your messages and keeping the final image looking timeless.
  • Can I bring my own props?
    • In our initial consultation we'll discuss any ideas that you have and see how to best incorporate them with our Portrait Booth.
  • What kind of background do you use?
    • We use a few different backgrounds, depending on the design, from seamless paper to seamless vinyl to a fully custom built set.  We love working with clients that want to customize their backgrounds to fit their wedding or brand.
  • Can I use my own custom made background?
    • Of course, we will discuss any and all design related issues in or initial consultation.
  • What time will you be there for setup?
    • We will usually arrive an hour to an hour and a half before the event starts.
  • How long will it take you to break down?
    • Around 30 minutes
  • Do you shoot weddings or any other type of photography?
    • We shoot a few select weddings each year. We also do family and kid shoots as well as our world famous Photo Caricatures.  Check out our wedding work  HERE.
  • Where do we go to get our images?
    • A beautiful custom guest card is created for your event with the location of the images.  Each guest participating in the Photo Booth will receive a customized guest card.  Just go to the url and download directly to your phone, computer or tablet and share away!
  • Do you offer any albums?
    • Yes!  Currently we offer a variety of very high quality coffee table style books as well as a high end wedding album for your favorite images.
